We had a slow, quiet day today with four children out for various reasons.
This morning we used alphabet cutters in playdough and cut out our names. We also used the shape and animal cutters and made different shapes and animals.
At storytime we read "A B C", "There's A Bear in the Woods"(a book about sharing), and Thomas Kincade's "Numbers". We sang "Hello, How Are You", "The Alphabet Song", "Ten Little Indians" and "If Your Happy and You Know It". Then we went through 'colors' and 'animals' flashcards.
We took the turtles out in the yard this morning and they got to watch one eating a mushroom. That was exciting for them to watch!

Blowing bubbles for the turtle was a must! Or so they thought. The turtle wasn't very impressed! I got them convinced it wasn't as exciting for the turtle as it was for them.

"I can't, it won't go!"
"This is suwguw."(sugar)
